inexio Informationstechnologie und Telekommunikation KGaA, a privately held company of the Zimmer group, was founded in April 2006 and is headquartered in Merzig/Saar, Germany.
inexio was founded on the vision that modern Ethernet and MPLS based networks will replace the legacy, SDH/SONET based networks, of the established carriers and that the future will rely on IP and Internet based services. Following this idea, inexio has built in 2007 a pan-European network as well as several datacenter facilities. A future extension, which will cover eastern France is also currently in the planning stage and the complete network will be ready for service in early May 2008. Based on this infrastructure, inexio possesses all necessary means to offer fast, highquality and inexpensive telecommunications, and network based IT services in the greater region „Luxembourg-France-Germany“.
